2006 ------ What a fantastic year!
The last six months have been very exiting for all of us at Pacific Dance Center!
Coast City Ballet, our resident company was founded and presented it’s premiere
performance in March, they were sensational. Open auditions were held , and we
are proud to announce the addition of five new members to our young company.
CCB has been invited to perform at several different venues, including an invitational
in Barcelona, Spain! It is all so exiting, we will keep you updated, and will post dates
and venues of upcoming performances at the studio and on the web site.
Pacific Dance Center students have won awards at several regional competitions, while others have been accepted to
prestigious dance programs. We are very proud of each and everyone of them, and know they will continue to excel.
The “Coast City Ballet Guild” has been organized. The Guild provides an opportunity to work alongside your children
in the production of CCB/PDC performances, members are involved in just about everything: raising funds, painting
sets, selling ad space, sewing costumes, answering phones,… the opportunities to help this young company grow are
unlimited. We extent and invitations for you to join and help us grow. For Guild membership information please
contact CCB at 714-963-9771 or at Guild@coastcityballet.com

A parent’s “Pointe”
My daughter Christina loves coming to dance at PDC. She presently also plays softball and volleyball as she tries out
different things to find her niche. When I asked her about it all recently, she chooses dance as #1! I asked her why and
her answer to me was so memorable. She said it very simply, "Mom, dance makes me happy!" The friendships, chance
to express herself, and loving support she has found here with teachers and fellow dance students can't be beat! PDC is
a treasure we have found! You are all so wonderful. Thank you!!

My name is Dylan Thomas and I am a 3 year veteran at
Pacific Dance Center. I have taken classes in tap, jazz,
hip-hop, lyrical and ballet. It was an honor to be allowed
on pointe 2 years ago and even more to be a member of
Coast City Ballet Junior Company. My dance experience
at PDC has given me the skills and confidence to be
accepted into Huntington Beach Performing Arts High
School.
I am excited to be dancing the role of Little Red Riding
Hood in our June program and to have danced the role of
Fritz in last years Nutcracker. I want to give a big thanks to
Ms. Danielle, Mr. Charles, Ms. Clara and for making all
our beautiful costumes Ms. Aly.

Dancing At Recitals
I love to dance any time, but especially at recitals and dance
concerts. I love performing because it is so different from
my usual dance. First, I get to wear extravagant costumes and
make-up. Then, there is a certain feeling of hurriedness and
anticipation that seems to belong there just as much as the
actual dancing. Also, the spotlight is on me. And lastly, I
have been preparing for the big day all year long and then I
finally get to dance and to show how hard I've worked and
see how proud my teachers are after pushing me do to my
best. Trying to put it simply, the reason I love recitals and
dance concerts is because they are a big thing that make the
hard classes all worthwhile.
